Skelly students wrapped up their Jump Rope Ninja unit in PE on Jan. 31. They earned "belts" for jumping designated amounts without stopping or making a mistake.
There were nine levels for students to climb, with only a couple dozen students making it all the way to the ultimate black belt status. After the third level, Kindergarten and first grade levels increased by five, second and third grade increased by ten, and fourth and fifth grade increased in increments of fifteen to advance to each higher level.
For each belt color earned, students were able to put that color of bead on a pipe cleaner bracelet and sign their name under that belt color on the wall to celebrate their achievement.
Students took turns counting for each other and cheering on their classmates as they attempted to advance up the levels.
