Mario Bros. vs. Star Wars

Photo Imaging wrapped up their Stop Motion Project on Friday, Nov. 12 with a screening of all videos.

The assignment was simple - take still photos of movement that, when combined at a quick enough rate in the editing process, shows the motion and creates a short movie.

"I thought that it was fun and kind of challenging. We just had to get a lot of pictures and had to draw all of it for ours," Reagan Scanlon said.

After two weeks and hundreds of photos amongst the different groups, movie magic was done. From a wedding to a video game recreation to Star Wars, the students put together some creative pieces.

"I'd go longer with it, make the photos a lot faster so you don't see as much stoppage," Trace Fowler said.

Rylee Baker, Taylor Smith, Mackenzie Countryman, and Tyler Worthington created a video depicting a wedding ceremony, the couple through the pregnancy, and their life with the baby. Shyanne Bryant, Emily Jellison, and Levi Davis created an enemies to friends video. Fowler and Scanlon created a video game using the white board. Similar to Mario Bros., it included coin boxes, pipes taking the characters to different worlds, and the flag at the end of the level.

Kayden Cooper created a lightsaber fight between Luke Skywalker and Darth Vader with the theme song and sound effects perfectly aligned.

"The toughest part was not moving the camera around very much. I really enjoyed the sound effects, adding them in," Cooper said.
