Due to inclement weather, all USD 490 school buildings will be closed and extra-curricular activities are canceled for Tuesday, January 9, 2024. Please stay safe and warm.

Being present at school affects your child’s ability to learn. Studies have shown a direct correlation between attendance and academic achievement. The school day begins promptly at 8:00 a.m. and ends at 3:15 p.m. When possible, please schedule appointments for days when school is not in session, or that will allow them to remain in school until after the end of the school day. When that is not possible, please be aware that a difference of even five minutes can affect whether they receive an absence or tardy for the morning or afternoon.
For example, if your child arrives at school at 10:00 a.m., they would be considered Absent for the first half of the day. If they arrived just five minutes earlier at 9:55 a.m, they would be considered Tardy instead.
If you have an appointment scheduled that requires them to leave before the end of the school day, and they leave before 1:30 p.m., they would receive an Absence for the afternoon. If they stayed just five more minutes and left at 1:35 p.m., it would be calculated the same as a Tardy instead of an absence.

Due to incoming inclement weather, all USD 490 school buildings will be closed and extra-curricular activities are canceled for Friday, January 5, 2024.

CONGRATULATIONS to Page Pound, 1st grade teacher at Skelly, on being named a KAKE Golden Apple award winner! We are so proud to have you as #PartOfThePride!

EHS homecoming royalty candidates visited Skelly this morning. It's great to see our high school students being good role models and mentors to our elementary students! Way to show them what it means to be #PartOfThePride!

Due to the extreme temperatures and for the safety of our students, staff, and families, the Back to School Kickoff/Jamboree scheduled for this Friday, August, 25, 2023, has been canceled.
Many of the activities that were planned for that event will be moved to the first home football game on September 1. There will still be a discount offered on sports passes. More details will be released about those discounted passes and postponed activities as they become available in the next few days.
Thank you for your understanding and stay cool!

We are aware that not all Skelly families received the phone calls, text messages, or emails that were sent out last night. The cause was a hiccup in the system after a domain name change that occurred this summer. Our tech team is working to resolve the issue.

There will be no school for students/staff at Skelly tomorrow, Mon., Aug. 21, due to issues with the HVAC system.
All other USD 490 schools and buildings WILL be in session as scheduled.

The YMCA hopes to offer after school child care through their KEY Academy. It would be located at Skelly Elementary but open to all elementary age USD 490 students. In order for this to be a viable program, they need at least 15 students registered and to have a Program Director hired.
