Miss Lewis and Mr. Schuetz represented Blackmore at the Tim Underwood Memorial Luncheon. At the luncheon, the Underwood family and HF Sinclair presented funds to community groups that wrote grants. Blackmore wrote 18 grants and received nearly $40,000.

Being present at school affects your child’s ability to learn. Studies have shown a direct correlation between attendance and academic achievement. The school day begins promptly at 8:00 a.m. and ends at 3:15 p.m. When possible, please schedule appointments for days when school is not in session, or that will allow them to remain in school until after the end of the school day. When that is not possible, please be aware that a difference of even five minutes can affect whether they receive an absence or tardy for the morning or afternoon.
For example, if your child arrives at school at 10:00 a.m., they would be considered Absent for the first half of the day. If they arrived just five minutes earlier at 9:55 a.m, they would be considered Tardy instead.
If you have an appointment scheduled that requires them to leave before the end of the school day, and they leave before 1:30 p.m., they would receive an Absence for the afternoon. If they stayed just five more minutes and left at 1:35 p.m., it would be calculated the same as a Tardy instead of an absence.

This year we've been working on improving student attendance. Each day, week and month we've been recognizing students that are at school, are on-time and stay all day. We've seen HUGE improvements so far! Here are roughly 100 students with perfect attendance from last month!

Our 4th grade students recently read a story that is a play put on by a local children's theatre! Dr. Henderson had a role in the play this year and our students had the opportunity to go to Newman University to watch thanks to a grant from Mrs. Banks' Closet!
